Beautiful vintage, rare and unusual cedar chest likely made during the 1940's or 1950's by the CAVALIER CORPORATION in Chattanooga, Tennessee. These were/are the "Cadillac" of cedar chests! Overall size is 48" long X 19" deep X 20" high (floor to top). Interior of chest is
13 1/2" deep, with extra storage shelf. Chest numbered 126 on the bottom. It has a rare combination and push button-type lock and also works with the original key (works perfect). A Cherry wood finish (it's looks to me), including solid (clean) cedar interior. The chest has a nice design on the front. Lid opens nice, easy and straight, no loose hinges. The inside is very spacious, with plenty of storage. Chest would be simple to refinish, (as I have refinished furniture before), and this has no deep scratches or digs which makes prep very easy.
